Driftless Abbey is a college study space in downtown La Crosse, Wisconsin. Students can study, grab coffee, meet friends, and find community, while our prayer chapel provides a dedicated space for prayer and spiritual formation.

130 5th Ave N in downtown La Crosse, Wisconsin, and is hosted at
Cornerstone Community Church.

  • Driftless Abbey is a college study space in downtown La Crosse, Wisconsin, with a dedicated prayer chapel and gathering space. Students can come to study, get coffee, meet others, and find a welcoming place to spend time. The prayer space is open to the wider community.

  • The Abbey is designed to be a “reservoir” or a “watering hole” for students and the community. The Second Story is exclusively for college students, providing a place to study, connect, and build community. The Upper Room Prayer Space is open to students and individuals from the wider La Crosse and Coulee Region community.

  • Students can study, drink coffee, meet with friends, work on projects, read, have conversations, and participate events.

    Students are also welcome to the Upper Room prayer space to spend time in prayer and worship.

    Driftless Abbey is designed to be a welcoming “home away from home” for college students.

  • Driftless Abbey is not a traditional church or Sunday worship service.

    We support and encourage anyone that comes through our doors to find and plug into a local church body.

  • Yes. The prayer chapel is open to the wider Driftless Region, not just college students. Visitors are welcome to come and pray, reflect, and spend time in the space.

  • No. Anyone is welcome in the space. Driftless Abbey is rooted in a Christian worldview while seeking to offer genuine hospitality to students and visitors from a variety of backgrounds.

  • As of September 2026, we have received our EIN and are expecting our official 501(c)3 status soon.
